Residency

The Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Residency Program at Greenwood Pharmacy is affiliated with the University of Iowa. The University of Iowa program, established in 1997, is the longest running ASHP/APhA accredited residency program in the nation. Upon completion of the program, a pharmacist will have the skills, experience, and confidence to lead an enhanced services pharmacy practice. The resident will sharpen their patient care and pharmacotherapy skills while providing Chronic Care Management, Immunizations, Medication Therapy Management, Injectable Medications, Transitional Care Management, Enhanced Medication Safety Evaluation, Practice Management, and Community Outreach Opportunities.

Meet our Resident

Brianna Hostert, PharmD, is originally from Cascade, Iowa. She completed her PharmD along with a diabetes concentration at Drake University. Brianna was drawn to the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy Community-Based Residency Program because she had the opportunity to work at several of the sites as a student and appreciated the innovative practices being used to positively impact patient care. Additionally, the support from the University of Iowa faculty as well as the opportunity to learn from pharmacy leaders were also important factors. Professional interests of Brianna's include chronic care management, diabetes management, and learning how to effectively implement clinical services into community pharmacy workflow.
