The Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Residency Program at Greenwood Pharmacy is affiliated with the University of Iowa. The University of Iowa program, established in 1997, is the longest running ASHP/APhA accredited residency program in the nation. Upon completion of the program, a pharmacist will have the skills, experience, and confidence to lead an enhanced services pharmacy practice. The resident will sharpen their patient care and pharmacotherapy skills while providing Chronic Care Management, Immunizations, Medication Therapy Management, Injectable Medications, Transitional Care Management, Enhanced Medication Safety Evaluation, Practice Management, and Community Outreach Opportunities.

Kaitlyn Pegump, PharmD

Kaitlyn is originally from Atkins, Iowa. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in Iowa City, Iowa. Kaitlyn was drawn to the PGY1 residency programs through the University of Iowa and especially Greenwood Pharmacy because of the many innovative clinical services that they offer to their patients. Kaitlyn's previous pharmacy background was in independent community pharmacy and Greenwood Pharmacy seemed like the perfect fit for her to utilize and grow her clinical knowledge and patient care skills. Her professional goals include being a co-owner of an independent community pharmacy, obtaining her BCPS (board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist), and becoming adjunct faculty at a college of pharmacy.
